A Slight Molestation 2/1/2026

 I hit a year as a missionary.

We have (had) an absolutely raging homosexual teaching friend. The first time I met him was after English class last week. The second class finished and he called us and said, "I'm on the 3rd floor" so we went up there. He was playing piano. He had us set up chairs and watch him for a second but I was like, "bro we gotta go." Anyways, about two days later he called us and said, "Moser? I want to see you." Then he said in English, "I miss you."  Well.... come to church I guess!!  We met him in person at a restaurant, and this was a 'either he takes the gospel and runs with it or we leave' type of appointment, so I brought the law of chastity pamphlet with us. He was so touchy right of the bat. He then started secretly showing me photos of himself in Disney dresses and his life-like doll collection, so secretively that not even my comp could see it... it was rather uncomfortable. I looked over at my comp while the guy was searching through his gallery some more to discover him in fervent prayer. I whispered, "throw me in there" haha.

After he finished praying I mouthed, "what do we do?" And my comp replied by pretending to pull a pin out of a grenade with his teeth. It was go time, we slammed our meals in about 2 minutes flat, pulled out the Law of Chastity pamphlet, preached, then gave him the pamphlet. He didn't even finish a single slice of his pizza haha. We got up to leave and he was begging us to stay for "just 5 more minutes" but I said we had to go. I tried to give him a fist-bump as goodbye because I figured that was the least amount of physical contact I could get with this guy and still say a nice goodbye, but instead of just bumping my fist, bro rubbed my arm. He lowkey 'bout caught one in the chin for dat. He asked when English was and I told him that he's welcome to come to English, but if he comes, he actually has to participate. Well,  come English class, the very second class finishes and he calls to say he was on the third floor. I went up and told him he can't come if he's just gonna hide in the church until after class to see us, and said he has to leave. He argued for 5 minutes until I told him he was trespassing and I would call the cops.

My whole mission I've barely been bashed at all. At least not what you see in other places of the world, but here I get bashed all the time. It's awesome. Best language study known to man. I had a man approach me in the subway who bashed me over... something? He'd say stuff like, "You guys don't believe in Jesus!!" And I'd say, "yeah we do." And then he'd be like "WRONG! Only through Jesus can we be saved!!  Then I would say, "Nailed it. 100% correct." Obviously, he wasn't worth having a conversation with because he was trying to ignorantly tell me what I believe without a single clue about the church, so I bore my testimony that God loves him and shook his hand goodbye. He didn't know English but in farewell he said, "go to hell," but in a thick Korean accent. Truly sharing Christian love. Fortunately, there were like 10 people watching this interaction and they all heard us keep our calm, respect, and love for this guy. Teach by example.

A different lady started bashing us because we don't believe in the trinity. She kept talking about how, "well the Bible says ☝️..." even though the Bible so very obviously does not teach a trinitarian Godhead. Instead of trying to bash her, I just told her that we actually don't play by the same rules in our church. We are on a much different playing field (modern day revelation). We aren't relying solely on man's interpretations of the Bible because we have modern day prophets and the Book of Mormon. She didn't like that idea and said it was a ridiculous statement and that God doesn't choose humans to lead... a wild statement because everything she had thus quoted to me was written down by a prophet haha. We got on the train and I went back to talk to her and her husband. I gave them both mini-Jesus's and we had an awesome conversation. They wouldn't take the BoM (their pastor probably said they'd get possesed if they ever opened it) so I just told them to study their bible hard. We left the train as friends.

We had our district leader training meeting last week. It was pretty fun to see some of my friends I haven't seen in a long time. I hadn't seen Elder Ko since July 4th.  It's been a good week, turns out missionary work is way more fun when theres actually people to talk to.

Spiritual Thought:  On that same note, holy shmolyyy I am so thankful to God for prophets. They ain't perfect, never claim to be, but man it is such a blessing to have so much revealed and clarified knowledge.
